Integrative Counsellor Samantha Helen

Welcome, I’m Sam, an accredited and experienced counsellor with a background with mental health services, emergency services, and armed forces.

I understand that trying to find the right Counsellor for yourself or your relationship can be tricky during tough times so please feel free to read a little further and reach out with any questions you may have.

You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or uncertain about your next steps. Perhaps there has been a life event or ongoing pattern that’s led you here. You may be in a relationship that feels strained—due to difference in neurodiversity, communication, emotional disconnection, an affair, or external pressures. Many of the couples I work with find that their relationship is being impacted by the influence of parents or extended family, often in subtle but powerful ways — such as the stress of caring for elderly parents, navigating controlling or over-involved family members, or managing the lasting effects of narcissistic behaviours within the family system.

I also have experience working with neurodivergent couples, helping partners better understand each other’s differences in communication, emotional expression, and needs. Together, we can explore how to build stronger connection, clarity, and trust in a way that respects and honours each person’s neurotype.

Individual Counselling
I’m here to really listen to your experiences and offer a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard. I’ll be honest and present with you—without offering advice—so we can gently explore whatever you’d like to work through or change in your life. This might be through talking, using creativity, or stepping into different scenarios to help us understand and ease any discomfort they may bring up. However we work together, it will be at your pace and in a way that feels right for you.

Couple Counselling
As your counsellor, I remain neutral—supporting you both equally—while helping you explore what is happening between you. Rather than placing blame, I bring empathy and curiosity to how each person’s past experiences might be influencing the present. Together, we can gently explore these patterns and find ways to process them, so that you can move towards greater connection and wellbeing. Couples counselling can be a powerful way to improve communication, create space for each person to be truly heard, and open the possibility for change—whatever that may look like for you.

Supervisor
I’m an experienced, accredited, and human approach counsellor, and now trainee Supervisor. Whilst I complete my training hours, I am offering six months of supervision for £30 for 1.5hrs, a rate of £10 per 30 mins.

My areas of particular interest when working with clients are neurodivergence (particularly within couple relationships) and parental challenges for adult children (such as caring for older parents and narcissism). I’m also developing my knowledge of social media (such as Tiktok) and how my practice (and yours) moves with the changing times.

Using the 7-Eyed Model of Supervision, my aim is to support you in the work you do by ensuring we can explore this on all levels. However, I also describe myself as a human counsellor which means I bring my whole self to supervision allowing you to feel safe to share without worry of judgement.
